Expertise
Emma is a partner in the Planning and Environment Group with over 20 years of experience. She specialises in environmental law including environmental permitting, contaminated land, water and air pollution, odour and noise issues, waste, protected sites and species.
Emma assists clients with all aspects of environmental regulation and permitting, environmental litigation, enforcement action and/or prosecution for environmental offences.
Recent deals & projects
Successfully defending a claim of alleged nuisance from odours, arising from the production of curry sauces;
Successful appeal against a noise abatement notice issued to a food manufacturer, which alleged nuisance caused by noise from chiller units and required the business to cease use of the equipment;
Advising the manager of a public house on environmental permitting requirements for the discharge of waste water to a local stream
Advising on the environmental requirements of septic tanks and sewage treatment plants;
Representing the operator of a micro-brewery in a prosecution for water pollution arising from damage to heating oil storage tanks;
Acting for the owner of a public house and restaurant in a claim for damages against a water company and sewerage undertaker, arising from inappropriate connection of sewage pipes.
