The Business and Planning Act

The Business and Planning Act 2020 has now received Royal Assent and is in force. The Act remains is aimed at helping businesses to adapt in these challenging times and take advantage of operational opportunities.

The Act remained largely unchanged during its passage through the House of Lords although:

  • Off- sales are limited to 23:00 and any existing conditions for external areas apply
  • Local Authorities must have regard for disabled people
  • Applicants must have an outdoor smoke free area
