On the commercial litigation front, Simon specialises in advising clients on shareholder and partnership disputes, IP matters, commercial fraud and professional negligence claims. He has broad experience of freezing orders often involving claims for millions of pounds.
As an insolvency expert, Simon is instructed by liquidators, administrators and Trustees, usually to realise or recoup a company’s or individual’s assets, and by companies or individuals seeking to preserve them or buy them back from the office holder.
Recent deals & projects
- Advising a coffee retailer on terminating two separate contracts for the supply of coffee. Both had the scope to end in claims for damages for repudiatory breach of contract.
- Defending a franchisor against two separate franchisees who alleged repudiatory breach of its Franchise Agreement, claiming substantial damages.
- Advising a household name brewer on a product recall of 12 brands caused by defective bottles manufactured by its glass supplier and in a potential claim for breach of contract.
- Acting for a multi-national manufacturer in a claim for breach of trademark and passing off against a competitor.
